More fun from waiting under my Wildlife watching Supplies realtree throwover hide. Works rather well.

Certainly seems to - the buck seems totally unconcerned. Personally I would have preferred portrait format for this, with a little more space at the bottom. However, whether the subject would have allowed that is another matter, and it is way better than any roe image I have.

a nice looking Roe Deer Neil, it looks like the hide is working well.

Have to agree with David, it is a bit cramped for me on teh top of subjects back.

FWIW I made a reversable baghide from two types of camo material, in lighter green mossy oak and darker brown for autumn use. - making your own is the more flexible approach

Lovely shot Neil. Interesting behaviour well caught. Considering the direction the deer is facing I think you have a little too much dead space on the right hand side but other than that . . . very nice.

Re your 'throw over' hide, is this the same as the bag hide? I have one but I haven't had such good success with it. I find that even though my outline is broken up, any slight movement gets picked up and spooks the subject.

My tips for baghide use is use a tripod camping stool for long period comfort and wear a loose fitting long brimmed baseball cap, the latter allows a surprising amount of head movement without it transalting into hide movement and allows you to use the 'vision' slit more efficiently

Thankyou all. Yes, my 500 f4 would not zoom out any, try as i might. If I had a sowing machine, some camo and time I would glady make my own but they are so easy to buy. As for usage I always have my 3 legged stool and my tripod, so much easier than kneeling. Vision is a pain in the ass, eaven wearing my cap the slit moves around some I did think about stitching some velcro onto a hat and doing the same to the top of the big hide....bingo. ;) But it does teach you to sit still.
As for movement it depends on your posisiton. This particular spot I hide in the trees with enough space for 90° of vision where I know the deer are likley to appear, the sun goes down behind the trees putting me in relative darkness. Maybe I dont need the hide at all? :)
Thanks all.

A nice moment captured and I like it as is.

Cracking image Neil but I also think a vertical crop would be better. Your scent will always be the giveaway no matter how well hidden you are.

Either crop will work, just as long as it's got more room. Never had much luck with Roe so congrats on the fieldcraft.
