Great Blue Herons
Sorry for my long time absence from the forum. I really just needed a break to re-think what path I wanted to take with my photography. Anyhow, I can't stay away for long, because I really like the folks on here and all the awesome work I see on a daily basis. I also miss the honest feedback from everyone.
Anyhow, last weekend I made my way to the Great Blue Heron spot I have shot for the last couple of years. So far, there is only a single nest, but they were pretty active. Of course I ran into Dan Walters there. (There must be 2 or 3 of him...this guy is everywhere!)

Welcome back! An excellent variety of poses you've captured. Just about as good as it gets, in fact.
I don't have a clear favorite as I like them all, but #3 is quite impressive with the ballet style pose.
All are slightly underexposed. Adjusting Levels makes them pop a bit more. Check your histogram to see.

I always look forward to seeing your wildlife photography here!

WOW, an impressive GBH collection ! Keep them coming.

The exposures look right-on to me. I must have my monitor set brighter than John.

Kurt, these are all outstanding images. My favorites are a toss up between 1 and 2 mostly because of the unusual angle of the heron's body as opposed to the more common posture in #4

Good series. I like #4 most because it emits more grace, followed by #2

cool shots, Kurt. I like #2 best.

Great series Kurt! Like #3 just before landing on the branch.

I like #1 followed by 4--very elegant! The others are nice too, but have a bit of a 'static' look.
