Well last night I thought I had blown it, the deer were out in the field as I arrived and of course they bolted. Not to mention the random wind which led more deer to bolt through the woods while I sat there. But territory is territory and they came back, I had more light this time too and even managed to focus a few with the 5D (no mean feat!) before they came too close!

I think it is a very nice shot, nice background, well sharp and exposed...maybe bit tight at the bottom. The thing i do find distracting is the watermark bottom right, my eye gets drawn to it all the time.....

Cracking image Neil! Your bag hide is certainly paying dividends. The miniature albino deer looks good too!

Nice study

My only nit is the mown lawn effect of the setting - it looks too parkland and not enough "in habitat" if you see what I mean.

Yes Mike I do. Unfortunately the deer prefer the grassy fields as opposed to the crops, the grass however is cut for hay late in the year and is now of course just starting to grow. As spring progresses I am sure it will be more natural ;)

Thanks for all comments.
