One of my favorite locations for wildflowers is the Nature Conservancy's Tom McCall Preserve at Rowena . This 271 acre preserve has a diverse offering of wildflowers from February into the early summer months. The Douglas' Grasswidow pictured here are on a rock ledge of Columbia River Flood Basalt.

This is beautiful! I love how the sharp flowers pop from the oof background. The moisture on the flowers is a nice touch too.
Every year I seem to forget that Grass Widow's bloom this early! I love Rowena Crest too, and hope the weather will cooperate a bit while the widows are still around.
Cropping just a tad tighter to remove the attention grabbing leaf on the left would be an idea to play with. In the same vein, I would have been tempted to groom away those two brown branches in the background (or they could be cloned out), but that's a personal preference thing. (Both ideas truly nits though, this is very nice as is.)

Sweet image, Philip. Looks like a preserve I should get to.
Thanks for your comments. John, here is a slightly different crop. I tried to use content aware fill in CS5 but without much luck.

I'm glad you posted the crop. Now that I see it, I actually prefer the way those super sharp flowers are centered in the original.

Excellent image Philip. It's nice to see some color popping up in the eastern gorge. I prefer the centered flowers as well. I think it would be worth working the healing brush or clone stamp a bit more to try to clone that leaf out.
