Hi,

Gosh two postings in as many days from me.... One from a local lake this morning, good light was patchy but when it was good it certainly was...

This youngster was very amiable....

All the best

You have retained the detail in the whites very well, Phil. Another one of those subjects that are common, but which rarely seem to get posted on here.

I don't know if it is me but it looks a touch soft on here Phil.

Looks slightly soft to me too Phil, no big deal though, perhaps a little more USM? . Lovely pose and colours and the lighting on the bird is perfect. You certainly have got the hang of the angled view finder!

Hi Phil, like the richness & depth of the BKG/FG colour, nice not to see it black, LOL. I think I agree with Rob re some Selective sharpening and the reduction of Blue, as per the cast in the Whites and the reflection in the water, perhaps from a boat?

Nothing wrong in shooting (photographing) one of the locals.

Excellent POV, perhaps, as John points out, a tiny bit of left rotation.

Nits re cast and sharpness covered - for me it needs no rotation, but I'm blind so what do I know!

Just an all round pleasing image Phil :toast:

Cheers all....

Sharpness is very subjective I think... this is sharp where it matters, however it was exported straight from lightroom with no additional sharpening applied whatsoever... I do believe that very often a little too much sharpening is applied, often simply because we can... I am tending towards doing all my own personal work through Lightroom without any round tripping, that means I am still experimenting with getting the export presets right, so your comments are appreciated.

Bit confused as to the cast mind, any blue in the ripples is the result of a rare blue sky... and on three different calibrated and profiled computers/monitors I am not picking up a cast...

All the best

Phil

NIce image. I like the pose and the low viewpoint.

As already mentioned, quite a few photographers would have turned their nose up at this. slight nits covered but no big deal as this looks good from here. Nicely done, Phil.

Andy...
