The 145th edition of Nature Photographers Online Magazine is now ready for your viewing!
This month's Photo of the Month is a superb Man & Nature shot by NPN member Yiming Hu. The photo received a first place award at the 11th Annual New Mexico Magazine Photo Contest and we are pleased to feature it this month as our cover shot!
NPN Contributing Editor Alain Briot writes about the need to shift some attention away from the purely technical aspects of nature photography to the artistic side in his article Creating Meaningful Photographs. As always, Alain's insight is good advice!
NPN's editor-in-chief Richard Bernabe offers some food for thought on photographic icons in his article Icons and a Breaking Storm. I always find Richard's articles enjoyable to read and this one is no different!
NPN Contributing Editor Guy Tal shares his thoughts on creative image-making in his article The Essential Landscape: Rethinking Visualization, defining the role of visualiztion in the creative process.
Finally, since this month is the 12th anniversary of NPN, I offer some commentary on how the Internet has changed over the last 12 years and how NPN fits into the current "Internet landscape" in my article Twelve Years of NPN. I also leverage my authority as NPN's publisher to select a complimentary bio-photo to accompany the article that is, well let's just say, not quite a "recent" one of me.
As always, we encourage NPN members to not only read these articles but to comment on them as well. We look forward to your comments and we hope you enjoy this 145th edition!
