Wet finch
Nikon D7000 300mm f4 ISO 400 1/160s at f7.1 tripod.

Taken at my garden feeding station today on a wet bank holiday (nothing new there then!)
All C+C warmly welcomed. Many thanks for your comments on my last post.

Rain really adds to the image, maybe a tad more space on top...but nice as is.

The rain certainly floats your BOAT, Nick.  I like the comp as shown.

Looks good to me... great graduated background and the bird is good and sharp on a reasonable perch, I do agree a little lower in the frame, particularly to not have the perch exiting the frame in the left hand corner... it needs to be a little further into the image... I hope that makes sense....

Just to rub it in Nick we have had a lovely sunny day down here   I'm particularly fond of pictures taken in the rain and this is very nice. Contrary to Rene I think there is sufficient space all round here and I like the comp with the strong diagonal perches. Not a nit but an observation - . . . it would have looked better to my eye if the dark half of the background was at the top / right and graduated down to the bottom left. This would have been in keeping with the rain direction and the rain would have shown up better, going to the bird rather than away from it (if you see what I mean  ). Anyway, a very nice image. :toast:

Hi Nick, main issues noted I'm sure, just watch your sharpening, halo appearing under tail feathers.

Sorry, nice day here too.

Nick we have all been there, it might not be great, but you will learn to deal with the conditions and more importantly, how to photograph in all weathers.

Hi Nick
In my opinion I would drop the bird a bit and move it a tad right. No big deal though.
But thats a purely personal view and God forbid we all produce the same looking shots !!!

Like it as posted, Nick. I think the room under the perch shows off the rain really well.
