The Dawn Hunter

Backlit Barn Owl, hunting over the reedbed at first light.

1/2000th @ f8 -2/3rds iso640 ( I thought about lifting the face a touch, just to bring out a little more detail, but it didn't look quite right somehow. My minds eye kept telling me the face should be dark because of the backlighting, so I've left it as is, what do you think ? )

Please view the large version

Thanks for the feedback on my last post and thanks for looking.

I agree with you about the face - it is fine just as it is. A lovely, evocative shot.

Lovely backlighting. I most certainly wouldn't change it. As you say, it is possible to change everything in Photoshop but that doesn't always make it the right thing to do. NIce one. :toast:

Excellent as it is IMHO, apart from lacking the third dimension, of course.

Agree that should be left as is. Captures the essence of a Barn Owl.
