Hen harrier with young hare
Last year i spent a week with my family on the small dutch island of Terschelling and was lucky to witness a male Hen harrier catching a young hare. Never knew that a hare could scream as much as this one! Very sad but then: i had never seen this before.

Nikon D3S with 600VR handheld.

"What a thing to witness, let alone photograph Rene."

I'll go along with that.

A very fortuitous experience Rene (obviously for you and not the hare!) and well caught indeed. :toast:

A hare raising image, indeed, Rene.  Witnessing the food chain in action can be a traumatic experience, for all concerned, especially the prey.

Would love to see this one large....perhaps a audio recordign of the hare would come in handy for the foxes? ;)
