This image was taken from the small lake at Benson State Park in the Columbia River Gorge. Mist Falls deserves greater attention than it receives since at over 400 feet it is one of the tallest recognized waterfalls in Oregon. However, the falls is less than a mile from the waterfall king of Oregon, Multnomah Falls which likely has led to its relatively unknown status. And with a rather difficult and dangerous climb up an unstable talus slope to even get to the base that also contributes to its lesser status.

This is really nice Phil and I am guilty also of neglecting this fall and its spectacular view. I like the change in terrain, rock and foliage as the eye follows the falls top to bottom. Nicely composed and well taken.
Is this the waterfall that often flows backwards (i.e. the wind blows the mist up and the falls seem to disappear rather than continue? I've always wondered how to get into a position to shoot it.
What a great shot, Phillip. I love seeing all the different strata of rock. And like Craig said, the view of the terrain across to the falls and up the cliff is really cool. It's an impressive falls, too.

Very nice Phil!! I really like how you used the layers of trees to support the falls.
