I went to try to catch a sunrise at the Flatirons yesterday morning. The clouds were so promising on the drive up, but they moved too far east and blocked any terrific color. But, the moon was setting behind #1 Flatiron and made for a different image at least. These bushes in the foreground were blooming and they smelled good too, so I thought they made for a decent foreground element. Those are hard to come by around there. At least until the wildflowers arrive. There are some Golden Banner starting, so it won't be long until we see more.
Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,
I love the texture and pastel colors in the foreground flowers. Very nice.

Nice. The moonglow does a good job of moving the eyes from the white flowers up to the Flatiron. A possibility might be to crop some of the sparser flowered area from the bottom.
This was Plan 'B'? Well!
This is a real fine image, Morris. I like how the peak is dead center, and the moon glow adds so much atmosphere. The sky is pretty sweet, too. Beautifully composed and exposed. My only suggestions would be to clone out the highest stray flower and a slight crop on the bottom as noted.
This has to be one of the most unique images I've seen from here. Congratulations! You should consider posting it to the Landscape gallery.
This was just luck as the moon just happened to be close to setting at the time I arrived at the outcropping of bushes. I was looking for a way to incorporate them in the shot and they were lined up with the moon heading for the Flatiron. Of course, as usual, it helps to be there first. So that was plan "B".
Looks like it needs a crop. Will do.
And, John, all of your suggestions are being acted upon immediately. Thanks.

As a guy who has shot the Flatirons a LOT, since I live in Boulder, I have to say this indeed a unique take on a familiar subject. On my monitor, viewing the image in both IE and Firefox, the sky color seems very rich, perhaps a bit too rich? I wasn't there, of course, but it might be somethng to consider tweaking when doing a final edit in Photoshop.

Thanks, Glenn. I'll look at that again and maybe pull back on the vibrance in the sky.
Thanks, Soubhik.

Morris, this is probably the most unique image of the flatirons I have seen posted on here. LOVE the moon setting, the slight glow on th speak and the color of the sky is incredible. Awesome stuff!
Hi Morris, so many great suggestions already; I would echo the crop idea. I think the color looks perfect. Isn't it nice to finally see some green in the grasslands around Denver? Just a few weeks ago this image doesn't POP as it does now with that intermediate foreground spring/green.
Yes, Kane, it's great to finally having some Spring arrive around here. And, you are right that it would not work without the green and the blossoming shrubs. Thanks.
