I'm going to be visiting the Charlotte for a conference April 29-May3, and I'm planning on getting out for some early am and late pm/evening photography.

I was hoping to get some suggestions for photo locations within an hour or two of the city or in the city in are area of nature/birds/wildlife/landscape/flowers/historic locations, etc.

Thanks!

Ryan, there are a couple of nice attractions in or near Charlotte. The North Carolina Raptor Center is in Charlotte and has a nice collection of birds of prey. They rehabilitate injured birds for releasing back into the wild but also have some permanent residents which cannot be released. If you are interested in flowers the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens are just west of Charlotte in Belmont, North Carolina. They have several outdoor garden areas and an indoor orchid house as well. All well worth seeing.
