Captures the atmosphere of Ruaha very nicely, and the panoramic treatment works well here.

From what I can see Phil: Olympus E-520 f/3.2 1/640 ISO200 WB Auto

Get the impression it's late afternoon from the light, guess the pride must be on a hunt, as these big cats don't normally like water and will only cross if they have to. The pano crop works well, but wonder if a third, two thirds balance might be better?

Sounds about right Stephen in all honestly it was one of the first pictures I ever took and the camera was on auto!!! have tried a few comps over the years but this seems to be best for getting the whole pride in ... yes sunset and the pride was following a herd of buffalo that crossed a few minutes earlier we watched them following them all afternoon. One of the best expierences of my life

Thanks David, a park you know well ...

My only nit is that they are walking off, not on to the canvas. This must be a candidate for a 3mx1m print?

Hi Phil - whatever the techs, that's certainly something I've never seen recorded before.

The pano is just right for me as the shadows in the FG tell the story of late PM or early AM.

Personally, I'd like to see an even larger printed version, as long as it can hold the detail, as I bet it would look great ...... :wavey: :toast: :toast:

Thanks Keith, when i finally move I certainly intend to become more active.

Neil, I know the big male on the far LHS would look much better on the leading the others too me, oh well.

Thanks Phil appreciate it, Graham I have it 20 by 8 on the wall and it is OK I have not tried larger but I wonder if the sharpness would hold ... only one way to find out I guess
