Nikon D7000 500 f4 ISO 800 1/2000s at f8 tripod.
Found these two hares before the snow shower hit us. They just turned their backs on it and hunkered down. When I photographed them last time they had white coats and stood out on a pretty snowless mountain side. Yesterday they had brown coats and stood out on a whiter hillside. The eagles must be happy!
All C+C warmly welcomed.

Yes, sleat in Munich today.... no end to it. Nice shot tho!
This one tells a story - my only, initial, nit being the OOF Hare in the BG. A shame it didn't stick its head up further.
Having said that however, it made me look closer at the image.
Not sure if that was what was intended when the image was taken, but the second hare's presence drew me in and made me look closer ....... on that basis, it works well for me !

Thanks folks.
Graham, to be honest I hadn't noticed the other hare until I reviewed the images later on. The snow shower came in quite fast with a strong wind and I was struggling to keep everything from taking off so the shots were pretty grabbed before the snow got too heavy to see the hares! I assume these two are male and female as they were doing a bit of boxing afterwards although I didn't mange to record the action.

Tells a story, Nick, and full marks to you for capturing it.

Makes me feel cold, just looking at it. Great stuff.
Love the concept and I quite like the composition... I think perhaps a some more contrast and certainly more saturation to help the Hare/Hares to stand out even more... simply because you mention the 'brown' coats, the image as presented is a little monotone, if that makes sense...
I would echo Phil's comments Nick, my first thoughts were that it needed a bit more saturation. A good image otherwise, it certainly demonstrates the conditions they have to contend with.
