Ring necked Duck
Spent alot of time with three of these birds today out at dawson creek corporate park in Hillsboro. I was thinking these were Scaup until I got home and looked them up in the book. Good light and not many people out today, the acorn woodpeckers were active today.
Nikon d5100 , Sigma 50-500 at 500mm, f8, 1/200th of a sec at ISO 640.

Great control of the color on the duck; hard to see, let alone capture, the brown ring on the neck. Lovely shot!

It is a nice looking duck. It seems a little bit out of focus though. :smile:
