I don't really do many landscape shots (as most of you know), but I decided to purchase the Chip Phillips series of videos John Mumaw recommended a couple weeks ago. So far I have only watched the first three which includes luminosity masks. As a result, I decided to try and re-work a shot I took about 2 and 1/2 years ago.
I am of course looking for any feedback. I decided not to go to bright with the vegetation on the left because it was an overcast day as you can see and I want to keep the realism.
Thanks for looking!

Certainly very realistic to my eyes, with appropriate density throughout, and a beautiful moment to boot!

Nice job Kurt...this looks great, good exposure all the way through!! I purchased Chips video also and haven't actually processed anything with it yet. Can you email me and let me know what steps you used to make this look better? I'd be interested to hear what you did and if you thought it was easy to follow. Thanks.

I think you need to pursue this landscape thing further based on this! The only thing I'd do is sharpen it. I like the flock of birds that are visible in the larger image.
Dang, that looks pretty good, Kurt. I noticed the flock of birds in the larger version, too, and thought you can't even take a landscape shot without having birds in it.

I'd keep it just as you have it. The dark clouds are a great frame.
