I finally took a break from printing and tax work, and decided to make a quick trip to one of my favorite waterfalls this morning. I was glad to see some water in the creek - not much, but more than I expected. Wild azaleas were just starting to pop.

Howdy Bill, your compositions always captivate me and this shot is another that does. I really like how the closeness of the magnolia seems to welcome the waterfall it's really a great part of this image, wonderfully done.

Great composition, wonderful DOF, realistic color, good lines and texture.
As usual, great work.
Wow, that water clarity and the rocks underneath really add to the photo.
Good stuff.

Bill, I am also surprised at the amount of water you had, the rivers did not seem to rise that much from the rainfall. Your shot is great and you did a terrific job with the overall scene. It is difficult to capture the top of the falls due to harsh light new the top but you handled this perfectly.

I like it when you take a break Bill ... beautiful photography.
Thanks guys. I think this is probably the best of many shots I have taken here over the years. I wish there was something I could do about the compression loss in this version - the master tiff file has quite a bit more detail in the dark areas, and is much less contrasty.
So you did get out and about! Really nice shot. I agree with Brad on the position of the Magnolia in your shot. Makes the eye flow right where it needs to, along the Magnolia and then right to the waterfall.

Looks like it was well worth it to make that hike. Very well done.
