Hello everyone, hope you are all well! I am taking my Wife away on a short break to the Wye Valley next weekend, after her Mother passed away. I've read various websites about the Kingfishers, Otters, Woodland birds etc. Just wondering if anyone has any experience/knolwedge of the area? Any tips greatly appreciated!
Regards to all,
Paul Rosser. :wavey:

Hi Paul, sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my condolences. Sorry not an area I have visited but I believe it is great for wildlife.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Paul. Depending which part of the Wye valley you are in, you may not be too far from Gigrin Farm, the kite feeding station. In the woods in the area, pied flycatchers and redstarts should be arriving, but I don't know any especially good locations. There are otters in the area, and I did know a girl who was working on them, but most of her sitings came from road fatalities. Not an easy species in that area unless you happen to get lucky. Plenty of places for interesting landscapes though.

Hi Paul, sorry for your loss.

I was kayaking at Symonds Yat a couple of years ago and saw a pair of otters on the right side of the river as we headed down towards the rapids. Enjoy the trip.
