Catching Up
Hey gang,

Just a quick note to catch up.

I've been away from the forum with other gunk; most recently riding my bike home from Walla Walla. (The photo is a capture of my victorious arrival yesterday. ) It was a hard decision, but I rode with a compact camera instead of the SLR. With a few extra days to make the ride (and stronger legs), it would have been nice to play more with photography along the way.

The gorge is really looking good, with new vegetation everywhere. The flowers are doing well. In the eastern part, the balsam root is coming along nicely. Patches of lupine are looking good, but look like they have yet to peak (this weekend or the next??). It was really warm out there this past weekend, so that may speed things up some. I wasn't able to wander Dalles Mt. Ranch, so I can't say if the heavy carpets are there this year. Anyone else been out there?

Great photos being posted recently!! I'll jump into the commenting once I get my bucket list cleared a bit.

Welcome Home John, that was quite a challenge. Did someone come out and hose you down when you arrived? Look forward to seeing some photos from the trip!

Oh, now! That's quite a trip! Having done some long distance bike trips (eh-hem! in my youth), I can relate to this image quite well. Gave me a laugh and great memories. Glad you had safe journeys; look forward to the pics and stories when you get a chance to post.
