Emergence
One morning last week I managed to find one or two Large Red Damselflies emerging from their aquatic nymph stage into adulthood. I tried to backlight this one to give it a slightly different feel. I can't help but wonder how the adult damselflies are coping with today's torrential rain and gales :frown:

Canon 7D with Sigma 150mm lens, f13, ISO 400, tripod etc.

Please view the larger version if possible. All C+C welcomed.

Hi Matt, perhaps opening up the whites in the mid tone might help, just adds a fraction more detail & clarity.

Nice thinking OTB :toast:

The back lighting imparts an evocative primordial atmospheric feel to the image. Excellent once again.

A splendid macro shot Matt, really impressive, the backlight feel to this really makes it special. :toast:

Nice shot - I like the backlighting. Nowt but a couple of frigid pondskaters braving my pond so far.

Its a little too dark for me Matt, all that lovely detail is missing!
