Both you and Catherine captured some very delicate hues in difficult lighting conditions. Pleasing and satisfying bokeh. Did you really expose at 1/6400 of a second or was it 1/640? Just curious! I believe Catherine did say in her post that the light was very challenging.
This has got to be one of your best yet for the year Ned. The composition and subtle isolation of the main bloom and it's two companions is complemented with a wash of OOF BG that helps created a very artistic painterly look. Congrats on a fine job!
Outstanding, Ned! I like your comp better than mine (in the Outing Report thread) because of the amount of blurring in the fg. You have really got the compositional eye! Feel like I learned so much, as we shot together, especially now that we can compare some images. What fun!
P.S. Great shutter speed. You'd think we were shooting car racing, but that's how much light we had out there. Who could forget?!
Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I think this is one of my favorites, too.. I have so many compositions I am having trouble finding ones that really please me. I checked again and yes, 1/6400. We were pretty much handholding everything and getting fried! I am peeling pretty good from the experience right now! Originally I meant to post this in the Spring Contest, but I messed up. Glad you all are enjoying it...

Did you really do this at 1/6400?
