A very clean image Dave & very pleasing to the eye indeed. The subtle tones of the water really draws your eye to the subject, which is nicely exposed.
Dave I would love to see another shot of this showing the birds whole reflection.
Still an excellent shot in everyway

Hi David
Totally agree with Vince, love the shot but would prefur more room at the bottom and a little less on the top.

Yes. it would be great to see the whole reflection.
The shapes in the water compliment the bird fantastically, making this a wonderful picture. I'm quite happy with it as it is. Photography to strive for.
That looks familiar... Oh, maybe cos its I have 20 just like it! I like the composition... maybe a little tight on the bottom I did a small feathered selection on the head and slightly increased the blue channel on a levels mask. It really brings that irridescence out on the head feathers. Just a suggestion. Will talk you through it on MSN if you want.
Really like the negative space idea this is so close but I do feel that the bird would be better if slightly smaller in the frame with a touch more room at the bottom, it feels uncomfortably close at for me at the moment probably because you know the virtual feet are there and it feels like you have cut them off..

Re -ve space.......I think you could do with having the subject even smaller in the frame, just so that we can see more of the silky water.
