This year in our monthly themes we've celebrated the RMNP states of New Mexico and Arizona. Since spring is a wonderful time to spend in the southwest and our Moab Spring Fling is coming soon, it's now time to post images from the Beehive State, Utah!
Share your images of Utah's amazing parks including Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion. If you have shots of the northern mountains such as the Wasatch or Uintas, here's the place to post them. Other landscapes from the Great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats would look great in this theme. Utah also has some amazing cultural sites such as the Ancestral Puebloan ruins at Road and Cedar Mesas. Don't forget about wildlife photos too!
"Color greeting Night"
In an ancient and remote place in Canyonlands, the sun had long set. Color was still in the clouds as the stars of the night came out. The wind of the day was gone and only silence greeted the ruins before me.
False Kiva, Canyonlands National Park
I arrived at the overlook at Dead Horse Pt. State Park just as the sun began climbing high enough into the clear sky to begin illuminating the canyons. The timing couldn't have been better for I had only about a half minute before the shadows moved to partly cover this tree.
Here's a shot of Factory Butte at sunrise. This is certainly one of my favorite places in Utah, probably for its peaceful emptiness as much as for its beauty.
A spot lit portion of red rocks taken many moons ago between Castle Valley and Moab. Nothing says Utah to me more than blue sky and red rock A whole lot of amazing shots as expected with this months theme.
This looks to be another amazing month of eye-candy images.
My Utah folders are limited but I hope to rectify that this next week before and during the spring fling.
This is from Alstrom Point overlooking Padre Bay of Lake Powell.

This is a shot from this last fall. As a Colorado native it only took me 50+ years to make it to the Moab area. My son went and talked me into joining him on his next trip. I'll never forget it.
Here's one of my favorites from the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area. I could spend days just looking around at all the cool patterns! Come to think of it, I have spent days doing that!
Great stuff from everyone, as usual! Jack and Jeff, it's nice to get a glimpse of alpine Utah. C'mon, surely someone must have a Timpanogos shot somewhere (unfortunately, that someone's not me)!
Anyway, here's a stormy evening in Desolation Canyon.
From an earlier post but thought I should put it here as well.
Amphitheater Sunrise
As the golden, red and white rocks below me started to glow, fire swept across the sky. The moment was fleeting but the memory was permanant; this was one of those magical sunrises where you feel transported to another world.
Here's another from Bryce when Jack and I did star shots.
Exploring the Night
A lone hiker viewed the path before him as the Milky Way rose in the night Sky. The towering Hoodoos stood high casting an immense silence in the canyon below.

Here's a very short time-lapse from the same location.

A recently excavated kiva in the middle of nowhere (Montezuma Creek) SE Utah, now closed off to the public.
Here's another kiva shot to go with John's!
