OT - help with bird ID
I'm usually pretty good at this but I'm a bit stumped on this one. I thought this might be either a yellow-breasted chat or a western kingbird. Took this up on Johnson Mesa (hwy 72)on the way to Folsom, NM on Monday. It's a bit larger than a bluebird and smaller than a robin and has an ever so slight hook on the end of its upper mandible. Only perching bird I know that has a hook is a shrike and this is the wrong color and is too small. Anyone know for sure??? Thanks in advance!
