Is anyone aware of a battery charger that i could use in a car to charge the battery to my canon 5dii battery. Like you use to charge your cell phone . I go backpacking alot and its the only power source that i have access to .

I use something similar to this inexpensive DC to AC Converter that plugs into a vehicle's power outlet (aka cigarette lighter).
It works.

Here you go, Jack!

BTW, Canon makes one for a whopping $169 which is ridiculous. The Pearstone charges two LP-E6 batts at once which is a major plus, and it's $90 cheaper. I use Pearstone products for some of my audio production gear, they are a third party manufacturer that makes decent stuff for a lot less, without being too cheap.

I'll ehco John's suggestion. You can buy a simple DC to AC 100W converter at Radio shack or True Value for $10-20. Plugged into the cigarette lighter, they provide all power needed for a battery charger. I keep one in the truck and as soon as a camera battery goes dead, it goes into the charger. No more left batteries in the motel
