I think this is the last one from my Hawaii series. Thanks again for all the feedback. You've helped me sort out what is working and what isn't. This last one I have very mixed feelings about. I think I missed an opportunity (or perhaps I need to get more creative with processing). It's a plumeria blossom, shot in the oddly lovely courtyard of the Honolulu airport. I did not have my tripod, so it's handheld, and not as crisp as I generally like. Nonetheless, I tried to get arty with it. Did it work? Should I process in a different way? Or, just be done with the Hawaii folder and start shooting new stuff ;-).

As is, it looks soft and grainy... Doggone it. The comp and color are just great, and that's the part that works. Otherwise, though, it's a little hard to look at because of the softness. You could perhaps try a rescue by "artifying" it with filters… Might be worth a try if you're otherwise enamored with the image.
Work has been crazy, so I'm slow on playing with the processing on this. I did a strange combo: high key + glamour glow in Nik. It was the best effect I could muster (still might try b/w later) but I'm still not happy. This just proves the lesson that nothing in post processing can fix soft focus. Anyway, let me know if you like this better than the original image above.
