I'm considering going to the Redwoods NP, CA near
the end of May or the first week of June. Usually
that's the best time for Rhododendron. From there
I thought I might go north into Oregon for Silver
Falls SP, Proxy Falls, and the Columbia River Gorge.
Is that a good time for those locations? Will the
falls be full and will the green colors still be
good?
Finally, by traveling at that time, where would you
recommend going for some good wildflower locations?
That should be an excellent time for Silver Falls and the gorge, but Proxy Falls is along the Mckenzie Hwy and the road may or may not be accessible yet. I believe it's low enough that it is not along the portion that closes during winter, but you might check that to be sure.
As for wild flowers, you will be a little early for alpine (still snow covered) but about perfect for some the highest spots in the gorge. Dog Mountain (WA side of river) generally peaks around that time, but it is a 6 mi. round trip with 3k ft of gain in the 3 mile hike up. If your knees and feet are up for it, however, the views and flowers are hard to beat.
The gorge should be awesome then. That's when I'll be exploring there.

All of your listed locations should be good at the end of May and early June. Proxy can be tough to shoot early in the season due to the intense spray created by the high water flows.
