The 146th edition of Nature Photographers Online Magazine is now ready for your viewing pleasure!

The May cover photo is a gorgeous landscape/bird photo by David Chauvin. This photo could be viewed as a superb landscape photo that includes one of its inhabitants, or a superb bird photo beautifully rendered in its environment. Our thanks to David for posting it on NPN!

Alain Briot shares his insight on how his photography is influenced by his background in painting, and the differences between painting and photography in the creation of fine art in his article If This Was A Painting Instead Of A Photograph.

Guy Tal offers some excellent food for thought in his entry The Absence of Humans. I always enjoy and appreciate Guy's messages as we homo sapiens seem to get more and more "wrapped around the axle" of own superficial needs/desires without regard for anything beyond them - including appreciation of places unfettered by the presence of humans.

Paul Faust serves up another trio of book reviews that are of interest to nature photographers!

This month also marks the last batch of articles that Richard Bernabe will have prepared for publication. After 5 years and hundreds of articles - including proof reading, formatting and uploading to the NPN server - Richard is finally taking a well-deserved break from this important responsibility. Please join me in thanking Richard for his time, effort, and for helping to make Nature Photographers Online Magazine the great resource that it is - thank you Richard! :toast:

We hope you enjoy this latest edition!
