This osprey cooperatively brought its just-caught catfish (bullhead?)to a snag on a pothole-side cottonwood about 30 yards from where i stood n full view in the prairie grass. She (I'm guessing a female...seemed slightly larger than your average osprey, although there is, admittedly little size dimorphism in the species)cast me a couple of brief glances before apparently relegating me to part of the landscape, even as i was unfolding my camp stool and tripod. Unfortunately she presented her back to me while rending the fish to consumable morsels and shreds, but did deign to give me the occasional noble profile (herewith attached).
it was, indeed, a lovely interlude.

Hi David: Nice story and nice image. If you are looking for critiques on the image, it is best to post it in the Avian Photo Critique Gallery, rather than the Bird Forum.

Thanks, Keith,
I'll post it there. Is it necessary to take it down from the forum first?
