Crystal Mill
Made a jaunt up to the Crystal Mill yesterday. The aspens are just starting to leaf out at that elevation. There is still nice snow on the peaks around. The road is still snow blocked just above the town of Crystal.

And a vertical
I left my tripod in the truck, so couldn't shoot the water properly

Frankly, I don't think these turned out so well, Richard. Harsh light and a wide dynamic range are the culprits.

Hey John....why don't you say it like it is
Thanks for the honest critic. I wanted to post these to show the conditions at the mill.

I'm surprised the water isn't a little higher. It just goes to show you that is was a tough year snow wise. Did you have to walk part way because of the snow block or could you drive through?

You can drive all the way to the Mill and town of Crystal. The road is snow blocked just above the town on both the pass road and road going to Lead King Basin.

Hi Richard,

I like them other than the water flow on the main falls is just too high and maybe a little clipped. Not much you can do about that though...The light might be a little harsh, but I think you handled it well and it's a welcomed departure from the typical conditions I am used to seeing of this area.

Hi Richard, I think the images are well composed but in addition to John's and Michael's comments; I'll add that I prefer a bit more of a color pop, especially in the first posted image. You have some decent color foundation here, maybe a bit more vibrance/selective color/saturation might help.

Thanks for the report Richard. Tough time of day and tough time of year to photograph this location. Given the conditions, I think you did a nice job and showed us a welcome change from the autumn afternoon shots we're all used to seeing.
