I am heading to Palm Desert from Indiana for the first time tomorrow to attend a nephew's wedding. I will be there for 6 days and have never visited the area. Does anyone have any suggestions for good photograph areas or ideas? I have been to Joshua Tree National Park in the past. Thanks for your suggestions.

Walt, no doubt JTNP is right there and has plenty to offer in landscape photo ops. You might visit Anza Borrego SP or Cuyamaca SP. Both are a bit south and west from your stay over area in Palm Desert. Also located in Palm Desert area is Palm Canyons, some nice photo ops there too. However, if you've got no plans on visiting JTNP you might try a look see at these areas, although, at this time of year all areas are headed into the off season because of the summer heat. In fact, after my trip to JTNP this week I will start my summer hibernation.
If you've not been to The Living Desert out in that area, you might give it a try also. Again, some of these locales start to slow to a crawl and even shut down during the summer months. But, I've always found The Living Desert a relaxing site to visit.

A word of caution: "Rattlesnake reports have been very early this year as well as a bumper crop." So beware while out in these arid areas.

Thanks Paul. That sounds like what I'm looking for. I'll look into these places.
