I am trying my luck with the local hobbies as a follow on from the time I recently spent with peregrines. I am finding the hobbies harder, and the recent weather has not helped. Any advice anyone can give would therefore be very welcome. I have already worked out that (a) I need to up the ISO, (b) I need to overexpose by at least one stop and (c) I need to find some blue sky, but any more tips would be appreciated.
The picture is my best to date, but the large image will show plenty of grain due to under-exposure and cropping.
I share your frustration I've binned more than enough too. May should be an ideal time to try for them but this weather pattern is not helping at all. Oh for some sun and the mayfly's.

Nice one David, I would be well pleased with this .. as for the blue sky, ....
Good try but the image lacks punch and I feel it is a bit underexposed . The way that you want to achieve this kind of flight shots is fine but I always find that flight shots in overcast weather don't work well.
Still a good effort
