I went back to the River Tweed at Melrose to have another go at the dippers that live on the river. They are obviously sitting on a second brood of eggs as the adults would change over the egg sitting periodically. The first brood are still in the area and begging for food from the active adult. There are a couple of herons around the area and the adults get a little agitated when one comes close to the young dippers.
Hi Ron, yep some nice detail in the plumage and the whites have detail too, which is good. I quite like the bold bit of vegetation as it bring some nice vibrant life to the image, but for me, the bolder is the BKG is a bit of a killer. Although it arches around the birds outline, I just find it a little distracting, but that is just a personal observation. Not sure what the small white line is on the RHS (about 3 inches up & 1 in on the larger image).
Super detail on the bird Ron but I find the large rock in the Bg a little distracting. It kinda looks like a mountain in the distance. That said Ron it is a bird I have yet to get a good photo of and I would be pretty chuffed with this one.
