Catching up
My sincere thanks to those who contacted me about my glaring absence of recent weeks. Your thoughts and kind words touched my heart.

So, what have I been up to lately? Aside from some personal stuff that I needn't get into here, I actually, for the first time in 18 years, took a job outside of my own business. I'm working for a wedding and portrait photographer friend of mine as her Photoshop/retouching tech (please, stop laughing!), and although it only takes about 20 hours a week at her studio, so far it's been taking up space in my brain full-time-plus! That's meant less time to think creatively about my own stuff, but I should reach a point of equilibrium soon.

Enough about that shiat. Here's a few recent photos!

POW! Man, does that first one ever jump off of the screen. With post processing like this, no wonder she employed you as her go to guy! The other two are merely gorgeous. Love the comp in that first one, too. You could crop or clone out the bright rock on the right side in #2, but it has so many excellent elements with the bright rocks, fog right behind them and then the icing of snow on the high ridges. And the last one has great repeating peaks marching across the frame. Super work, TC!
And, yes I was wondering where you were just two days ago and almost sent an e-mail to ask. Then I saw you comment on someone's post, so I knew you were lurking.

Oops, you were still loading images. Well, the rest are merely excellent. I especially like #'s 6 and 8.

Working for the wo-MAN  At first I thought you were going to say as a second photog! Glad you are back and posting such outrageously fine stuff :toast:

Love that blue-gold contrast in #1. Great set, Todd. :toast:

Glad to see all that retouching hasn't damaged any brain cells, yet.

WOW...well, you sure made a splash with your return Todd! Great series of shots. hard to choose a fav. I love 1, 4, 6 and 8 a lot!

Welcome back Mr Caudle. I love number one because of the moody layering. Its like an entirely different mood zone in the immediate area under the cloud. I also like #7 as well.

Welcome back Cloudman. Great set. All are spectacular but #2 and #8 are the jaw droppers for me. Maybe if you do the finishing/retouching thing really well they'll let you shoot some of the weddings.

Good to see a post from you. All have something unique, but 1 and 6 are for me. Top quality!

Welcome back! Good to see that you won early release.
And bravo!! All of these carry your signature style, which is high praise indeed. I like 'em all.
Speaking of signature...'Morning Wood'.

I like them all, but for some reason I like number 6 the very best.

Sweet color and clouds in #8, glad you're keeping busy!

Welcome back Todd! It's fun to look at these images because they are from places most of us have been to (sometimes several times) but the majority of these comps are different than anything we have ever seen before. Such wonderful originality.

My favorite is #6, the bluish color balance provides a cool, moody feel to it. I love the comp on the first one but there is something a little funky about look of the Kissing Camels and GOG rocks (posterization from processing that wide dynamic range?) Nevertheless, it's an interesting effect and quite a striking image.

Cool! Love #4 in particular. :wavey:

Todd, All are nice. 8 then 6 are my top choices. In 8, I like the blue clouds in combo with the tequila sunrise sky. Maybe a slight crop off the bottom to reduce the amount of black space. The light filtering beneath the trees in 7 is good, imo.
