Kit Foxes
Hey everyone,
I have had the opportunity to photograph these foxes on a friends property. It's been great fun to watch them get bigger and more confident. Hope you enjoy them and, as always, critiques are always welcome!
Thanks, Mark

Wow Mark, these are incredible. Love #4 and the simplicity of the last one. Really nice work!

What a wonderful opportunity! Hope you can get back there for some more.

The last one is my favorite composition. Tough light to handle.

2,4, and 7 are outstanding and to get both kits in focus in 7 is really sweet.

Nice series Mark. My fans are 4 and 7. I haven't had fox kites to photograph for 2 years now, so I am envious! I also like the look the kit is giving mom in #6. I do think many of these are a bit over-sharpened though. If they were mine, I might back off that a tad. You can really see it in #5. nice work though.

4 is awesome! Actually are are excellent, the light seems a touch harsh. I would love these to be mine.

Cute! #'s 3 & 4 are my favorites. Tough lighting, for sure.

4-6 are my faves and 5 is just way too cute!

Very nice captures. You managed to catch some great interaction. In the interest of accuracy, they are red fox pups. A kit fox is an entirely different critter.

Fantastic job.

Thanks for the great critiques everyone. I agree on the sharpening Kurt. Some appear a tad more sharpened when I uploaded them than they do in person, especially #1. And thank you George, I honestly didn't realize that they weren't Kit foxes. Next time I'll do a little research
Thanks, Mark

I love #6. The look on the kit's face as it gazes up at mom was an amazing capture. Well done!

Mark,
Mind if I ask when you found the best time to photograph them to be. I stumbled across a den a few weeks ago and was hoping to get up there this weekend (Evergreen).

I really like #4 & #7. #7 is probably my fave, as I think the backlighting really works well on that one.

They seem to be active in the morning and around our dinner time. Their habits have been changing somewhat and I think they are starting to wander out for some night time activities led by the mom.

Number 7 is my favorite as well, love the backlight. The poses on numbers 2 and 6 are great but the highlights are blown and take a bit away from enjoying those images to their fullest. The fourth one is really cute and the light is nice and soft. Nice job.
