Went up to do a little skiing at Loveland yesterday. Got up there and the weather was just plain terrible. Windy, snowing and cold. So much for the previous night's partly cloudly forecast.
So I headed up and over loveland pass with my camera to see what I could find and got around to Dillon resevoir. The ice sheets are melting and its starting to look like spring. There is a little bit of a trail in the bottom right, but it gets cropped out for printing.
Rebel XT w/Tokina 28-70 f2.8 ATX Pro and tripod.

I do think it has a good pano perspective, but I really like the inclusion of the curved shorline that mirrored the tree line on the opposite shore. I liked my 13X19 crop very well.
Does this look flat or muddy as displayed here? It was cloudy, and I did not want to make it artifically sunny, but the colors appear to me on my monitor as just slightly dark, but not muddy.
I'm still not sure about my new monitor at home. I have not profiled it and my prints are not dead on. When I printed this, it looked kinda flat, where on my monitor it has a nice pop and good but balanced contrast. My old CRT was much closer to my prints, but this LCD is causing me some problems. I may just have to break down and buy some calibration hardware.

Cool shot, but what do you think of cropping the shore off the bottom, to a pano?
