Another bird wich nests in sandy walls but this time one from today near my home...
What else could it be then my favorite..the Kingfisher..
The pose you see here is an alert pose caused by a Goshawk who grabbed an Egyptian Goose chick right behind my hide..
greetings,
Jeroen Stel

Superb Jeroen. An unusual pose and the perch and BG are great. No nits from me!

Nice... and a different composition that goes against the rules but works... the bird appears to be looking back into the frame...

As Phil says- goes against all the rules but seems to work.
I still feel though that having the bird on the left would have been good too. This one too I feel would be better as is but with a bit more above the bird. Just my own thoughts.
Was this full frame ?

As others have said, it breaks the rules, but it works. Great thinking.

A beautiful Kinfisher pic Jeroen, I love the perch and the way you have composed the shot really works for me. It's different!
