Just back from a week on the Devon coast. No wildlife photography but I did have a close encounter with an adder whilst doing some landscape photography!
This was taken just before sunset in Hope Cove looking towards Bolt Tail, grid ref SX674399. A great location for landscape photography as the pub is only 50m behind me
I did a manual merge. I am still using Photoshop CS (not 2) so I don't have the HDR feature.
For a lot of landscapes I take a seperate exposure for the sky (as usually it is blown out on the exposure for the land/sea). I then roughly cut the sky out from one image and paste it as a new layer into the main image. I then use the erase tool to tidy up the edges around the sky layer so it blends in with no overlap. It takes a few minutes of pixel bashing to do this.
Once I have this combined image I then might do some selective adjustments on the image for highlights, shadows, contrast etc.
For some reason Sean I don't comment much on landscapes but for some reason this just grabs you, I think this is the 8th time I have looked at it now without commenting, sorry about that but I don't just want to say its a great shot.
I bet it would make a great wall image A2 size or bigger.
