Annular Eclipse from Shiprock NM
Here's a quick editing on a couple of photos from Shiprock.
A whirlwind trip...
A last minute opportunity to go opened up late Sat, so I loaded up and headed South. I Arrived in Shiprock Sun morning and took the Navajo highway (two track) out to the base of Shiprock. Don't pass on the opportunity to go out to this upthrust if you're ever in the area! I did test photos thru the day and shot the eclipse as it happened...WAY COOL!!!!
Then loaded up and headed North. Arrived in Rifle at 1am, slept till 4, then headed east on I70 and was back to work in Denver at 7:30...Needless to say, my butt was dragging just a little yesterday!!

Very cool Richard! I'm curious too what techniques you used for the first one. Regardless, it looks great with that silhouette of Shioprock to set it off.

Easily one of the best solar filtered shots I've seen of the eclipse. Excellent catch, Richard!

Nice work Richard! Awesome!

You got to share the technique for getting that nice clean annularity.

Flippin awesome, Richard. I've been looking at just about everything available on the web from Sunday's event and this is by far the pick of the litter. Sounds like a tough trip but definitely worth it. Nicely done!

I'm having a hard time taking my eyes off of the first one! Damn fine job!

Richard, the first turned out exceptionally well with the eclipse above Shiprock.

Liked the first shot a lot !

Stellar capture and composition, the silhouette is great. One small improvement could be removing the purple color fringing around the moon, but it's a personal preference thing.
