This is Fishers Tower near Moab, Utah just before sunset. Unfortunately the sky color wasn't there but the way the sun lit up the tower and the reflection on the Colorado River make up the difference. Jason and I went there for the weekend and got some incredible images as well as getting to meet some great folks at the spring fling. The wind was crazy all day and just as we set up for this shot, it died down just enough to give us the reflection on the river. As soon as we picked up our equipment to leave the wind came back and the reflection was gone.
Despite the sky not cooperating fully, this is a really nice shot Jack! Had the wind been just a tad less, you'd have had some awesome reflection color!
I commented over on Landscape gallery, but I must say again what a fine shot this is, Jack. Love the tonal triangles.

Jack I really like it. I think the imperfect reflection is really nice. The colors are gorgeous. Too bad the sky didn't cooperate. You made lemonade out of lemons and came home with to be proud of. I enjoyed meeting you at the Fling.
Nice Jack! Beautiful light, the reflections are great, and the layered comp makes the towers and mountains look nice and big. Have you considered a 4x5 crop, losing some sky? I know that makes the sky even more bland, but it might also tighten up the comp and really draw the eye to the landscape features, which are the strongest parts of the image.

Jack, I did not notice the clouds when you showed this to me on your LCD. I like them. Some possible suggestions would be to add some contrast to the towers, and slightly lighten the treeline along the waterline
