Madness struck, found new fun in trying to track swallows picking up flies, just above a flowing river wharf. Very addictive, reminds me of catching dragonflies in flight.

Cheers now

Hi Tim

A great flight shot, especially with the 300mm rather than your 800mm monster lens. An excellent composition with the dappled light on the water making a great backdrop.

Maybe would prefer the swallow just a bit bigger in the frame, but not necessarily full frame.

Great panning technique as well, these birds must be moving at such a fast speed. I saw plenty of Swallows last week in Devon but didn't attempt any photo's.

cheers

Sean

brilliant Tim. I love everything about this shot. The size of the bird and composition is spot on IMHO. back to top form. Pete

Wow, well done, Tim, getting one of these speedy birds. I studied the pic with complete self-interest as I am about to do the deed and go for the D2x, especially for the 200-400 VR. Quite scary. Again..super shot and I wonder how it would crop to get the bird slightly larger in the frame.
