Seems like Wayne and Bill were both in Utah at the same time I was there.
I visited Arches and Canyonlands National Park for the 1st time and was amazed at the variety in this area.
This photo is from Deadhorse Point in Canyonlands shooting away from the sun as it highlighted the red rock formations above the Colorado River.
I have to go back as there were too many places and not enough time.

Well we all coordinated our trips well wouldn't you say? If I'd known you were there Rod I would have honked on the way home. By the way, I really liked Dead Horse State Park and this "Point" has some really wonderful views. Glad you were able to make it out to see some of Utah's diverse and amazingly rugged features.

I wasn't but would have loved to be... Ha! Dead Horse is an awesome place! Come back with us in the fall to hike the Zion Narrows!

Dottie, Bret said to say Hi!. He was a great host.

And I'm going to be in Zion in July. Thought we would like the cool temperatures there in July! :)

Nice photo Rod, I was there week before last, but my photos of Deadhorse SP didn't turn out as good as yours. High winds and dust storm when I was there, but its still a fantastic place. We hit Monument Valley, Natural Bridges, Capitol Reef, and Arches, still have a lot of photos to process.

Regards,

Dick Lee

Should have made it a CSNP outing

Cool stuff indeed. I really like the Utah parks, and you are right about there never being enough time there!

Wow, nice work on this one, Rod! The blue reflection is really cool. Is that a bristlecone pine? There was one at Cedar Breaks they say is 1600+ years old.

I think that's a great idea about a Utah gathering. I'm in...

BTW, Rod, did you get my message about the canvas? My flight was starting to board and I had to go...

There's lots to see around Moab and lots of views af the canyons. I've never been to Dead Horse though, thanks for sharing. The reflection of the sky and rock walls is great. Nice job.

BIll,

Not for sure on the Bristlecone id.
Yes, I did get your message on the canvas. Thanks.
