Hi All,

I need to buy a leveling base for my Gitzo GT3541LS tripod to use it for video. I am thinking of getting a Gitzo GS5121LV Leveling Base. (Very Expensive though!!)
I couldn't find any information on how to use this on the tripod!!

Do I need to have the Bowl Adapter, GS 5320v75 75mm to be able to fit the leveling base on the tripod or it will fit on it without the need for a bowl adapter?

What is this bowl adopter for if it is not for a leveling base??

Any help or other suggestions highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Mo

You can buy the Gitzo bowl adapter, and a manfrotto half ball of the corresponding size to save money. It's pretty much the same thing, and way less expensive than buying the complete unit from Gitzo.

Ben, thank you for your help. I will check the Mafrotto leveling base might be a better option and I would like to save some money as well.
Still my question if I wanted to go with Gitzo leveling base is, do I need the bowl to be able to uset the Gitzo Leveling Base?
Cheers.

The gitzo leveling base has a built in bowl setup. Simply loosen the bolt that holds the flat platform on, and replace that platform with the entire gitzo leveling setup.

Thank you Ben for clarifying this. So, I do not need the adapter bowl, because the leveling base comes with its own bowl. Thanks that already saves me $70.
I do have the Manfrotto 701HDV and I have used it on my GT3541LS for filming. It is a great combination but, I had to adjust the tripod legs to get it perfectly level for panning. This was not very handy and took me some times to adjust it. That's why I need the leveling base.
Is anyone using or have used this comb? any thought on how much it will improve the leveling adjustment?
thanks for your help Ben.
