Bret who? Oh, him? Eh, you can have him!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Guy! It's great to finally be here. I'm sure I'll now spend more time photographing Colorado than ever before. :jump:

If anyone is planning a trip to Moab, drop me a line or give me a call. It would be great to meet up for a hike, a beer or even a chocolate malt (CAZ!).

Ahhh, Bret - a beautiful wife and an address in Utah... You're living the dream!

As far as shooting more in Colorado, I'd say just filling one CF card with Colorado images would put you ahead of the game.

Posted above is the image that chocolate malt bought (will buy) me. I like it enough that I'll buy a malt for Melissa too!

Hoping to get out that way again soon!

Hey, he was a plant to begin with. No real Coloradoan would spend that much time in Utah willingly; he was here to recruit and we caught on to him and sent him packin' out Jerry's way. With time reduced for good behavior, he's getting out and heading "home".

But then again, are we really sure he's heading to Utah? Based on that recent thread about Utah's image problem, maybe he's actually heading to Moab, Arizona...

Seriously, congrats on the move Bret! Guy's references to the last of your "green" shots in your ES&S posts had me wondering if you were heading back this way soon. Glad to hear you're heading home...even if it is only Utah!

Guy, What do you mean that Bret is now yours? When he was in Colorado, he was never really here anyway.!!!!

Welcome back out West, dude! At least now when you go out for a shoot, it won't involve a 6 hour road trip!

I see tha CAZ has posted an image of Bret's new dwelling, I've heard (and personally do) sacrafice for the view, but man that may be a little extreme. No running water, no electricity, and watch the step in the morning on the way to the out house...

Congrats on the move, and as longs as you are happy, there is no sacrafice. :toast:

Thanks for the welcome home, everyone! You Coloradoans sure are a forgiving bunch.

Seriously, it's great to be back out west. The SE is pretty in its own way but I am definitely a Westerner at heart.

What i think this means is that a lot of us will actually get to see Bret in person a little more now!

Congrats on the cool move you two! I'm sure you're gonna love it!

OK folks, party at Bret and Melissa's house!!!! Woo Hoo!!! :toast:
Posted by Jody Grigg on May 2, 2006 at 11:08 AM
Brent the house is an egg shaped trailer, not much party room in there I dont think! It might be an outside gig....
Posted by Bret Edge on May 2, 2006 at 11:12 AM
You've got it all wrong, Jody. The trailer is the guest house!

Good idea, Brent. I like the idea of a party. I'll check w/ the boss to see if she's down with hosting a party.

You're dead to me, Edge. Traitor.

As much of a dyed-in-the-wool, native born Coloradoan I am ==> I say borders schmorders...congrats on the move. It's all beautiful! You're actually only a few minutes into Utah anyway, and you're still on the Colorado River!
Hey, from my perspective you haven't moved much...you're still about a 3.5 - 4 hr. drive away.
BUT, a visit to Moab is superior to a visit to the Big D (or Castle Rock).
And I'll take the country in between on either trip any day. (OK, Moab's a bit hot for my liking in July and August.)

Congrats Bret! And Congrats to Utah also! I hope you enjoy living in our state as much as you have enjoyed visiting!

According to a recent survey shown in the Rocky Mountain Snooze from an AP Article, you could show any photograph from there and people would still think you're in Colorado!

I posted this before in someone elses thread, but if you're up for a jeep ride, my jeep club Rubicon Owners Forum is meeting in Moab this week. Ask for Todd (ytodd with the black jeep) and tell him Mel sent ya. They meet between 8 and 9 in the morning. The meeting point has been moved to the Moab brewery and they'll be in town through Saturday.

Thanks for the heads up, Mel! My free time is being sucked up this week with other things so I may not get as much time in the field as I had hoped. If I am free, I'll look for the Rubicon folks. I saw a convoy of Jeeps on Kane Creek Road this morning. Wonder if it was your guys?
Posted by Mel Ladewig on May 2, 2006 at 6:31 PM
I'll look for the trip reports later tonight and let you know. Some of them are "camped" at a motel with wifi and usualy post a report at the end of the day. There are approximately 35 jeeps out there from ROF, so they usually split into two or three groups.
Posted by Mel Ladewig on May 3, 2006 at 2:18 PM
I found the trip reports and one part of the group did Kane creek, so it is likely that you saw part of the ROF (rubicon) group.
