The high note
I went out intending to do avocets, but this is what I came away with. It reminds me of one of those studio shots you used to see 30-40 years ago, but in fact the background is a reed bed.

I like the pose and setting though it looks a little soft to my eyes, or maybe just a bit more DOF was needed to get the side of the bird sharp. It's nit picking though as it's still an attractive image.
