Does anyone have any ideas on how to use a polarizer filter with the Nikon 14-24 mm lens? I know about the relatively new Adapter system by Lee created specifically for this lens, but they don't offer a polarizer filter to use with the adapter. Does anyone hand hold a polarizer with the Nikon 14-24 mm, and if so, how bad is the vignetting?
Nathalie, there are many ultra slim fiters available on the market. One of them is Kenko Pro 1D Wide Band Circular Polariser. It is a multi-coated polariser designed with a low profile to prevent vigneting, and a matte black aluminium frame to reduce reflections. The best advice is to go to proper photo equipment shop, take the camera with WA lens and test few filters.

I don't have any personal experience with this lens or a CPL on it, but I think there is a good chance that vignetting will be your least concern. I own the Tokina 16-28/2.8, it (like the Nikon 14-24) has no filter threads. At that wide of an angle, the biggest problem is actually uneven polarization. You'd likely see quadrants or sections polarized and others not or only partially. The polarization is going to shift dramatically with any panning or repositioning of your lens. Just my 2 cents.
David, I contacted Ian Plant, the author of the blog you provided a link to. He was very helpful and actually recommended the fotodiox filter adapter system created for the Nikon 14-24mm lens.
Hi Natalie. I recently purchased the Fotodiox filter system for the 14-24 lens. It's a well designed system, although it can be quite fiddly to operate at times. The filters themselves are very good and are neutral, however my ND8 broke easily so a lot of care with them needs to be taken. The front screw-in cover is metal, and if you are not VERY careful, this could quite easily hit and damage the lens glass as you are taking it off or putting it on as it has a tendency to slip while you are trying to catch the threads. Just thought I'd mention that. Overall, it's a bit of a pain to use, but so far seems well worth it when a polarizer is essential.

Some googling turned up Ian Plant's take on using filters with the lens, including a polarizer - about halfway down the page.
