Tennessee Trip...
Just this past week I was able to go to Tennessee for a bit. Here's a photo taken near Chattanooga, over some river...

This is a four image blend, which was very difficult for me---I'm not sure how good it turned out, although I'm fairly happy with it. Did that make sense? What I really want is some extra input!

Additionally, all images were taken as RAW files, one for the sky, and the rest for the landscape, dealing with flare, etc.

Comments welcome. Be honest about what you think, that's what I'm posting for!

The composition is superb here! I really like the all of the curves and angles, and how all of the elements angle out toward the setting sun. The 'development' is just about perfect, too. Looks as natural as can be.
My only nit was that the forest on the other side of the river looks pretty dull. Part of that is how the setting sun strikes the atmosphere, but I think that a lot of it is simply because you posted this with no color profile at all. When I import it into PS and attach a profile, the forest really pops into view.

Very nice work, Nathan!

Thanks, John. I'll definitely play around with the color profile. I do notice a difference between the original and the one uploaded here. Glad you pointed that out.

To be honest, I wasn't at all happy about including the wall in the foreground, but now I'm just glad it adds some interest in that corner. It's a relief to hear it works well in the scene...

Overall a pretty good exposure. I agree with you that without the wall there isn't enough interest. I like how it picked up some warm light. What I'm wondering is what it would look like if the wall wasn't so dark in the corner. I suppose it's pretty hard to find some nice outcropings in this area. Nice image Nathan.

Dean---I'll try lightening the corner up. I'd be a bit nervous that this might look HDRed, though, if the shadows get too bright? I can see that it is a little 'black hole' there. Not the best thing to grab one's eye!
