Fox and the Goat(s)
Went up to the in-laws this weekend. A few weeks back I stumbled across a fox's den and I was hopeful to get up there and catch the baby in some activity. Turns out momma set up the den in about the least friendly spot for photography that she could find. My first trip down I stumbled across the baby (well, not quite a baby anymore) out and eating some left over woodpecker. He/she was watching me as I rounded the corner around some boulders into the draw (very thick draw with lots of deadfall, so I wasn't exactly silent). It remained curious enough for me to get off a couple of handheld shots and then when I looked down to set the camera on the tripod it was gone.

Went back down the next evening, and figured I would outsmart the fox. I set the camera up for interval shooting in a nice spot with a great view point. It was set to go off every 20 seconds for 300 shots. When I went back down, it looks like the fox had figured out a way for to run the battery down on my camera so that I only took about 10 shots. That is the only reason I can think of that my battery went dead.

Others are a few goats from up on Evans. Again. handheld and not the sharpest. New to wildlife so critique welcome. Personal critique is I need a longer lens and try and get the animals to do something other than eat or stare at me.

The goat pan is pretty cool with the one goat posing for the camera. Nice shot.

The look in the fox's face on #4 is great, nicely done.
