I made a trip up to Trail Ridge Rd. on Memorial Day for the sunrise. I was blessed with a beautiful sunrise, but cursed with 20 degree temps and sustained high wind right in my face. Oh well, I think I will take the good with the bad. Unfortunately I had a bunch of my shots ruined from tripod movement. I will need to remember to weight my tripod when it is that windy. This is a 5 shot horizontal pano of the Never Summer Range as seen from the Gore Range Overlook. I may crop down a bit, but thought I would share in its entirety. Thanks for looking
I was only a stones throw away from you (if you can throw reallllly far)....I wish I would've have known you were going up there, I went up just beyond cameron pass for some milky way that night and ended up staying for the sunrise, would have been awesome to go up there!
What's up Randy! Isn't it nice when the residual mountain snow helps bring out the shadows? The stitch looks pretty darn good but I do see where a crop to both sides may help the eye back into the best parts of the image. Lastly you may want to look into bringing out the shadows in the trees, there's not much detail in there. Thanks for sharing.
I'd say you did pretty well, Randy! I agree with Kane's comments though, and I definitely think about cropping the far left, which really doesn't seem to add to the image. But it's a beautiful scene and the pano format works for it.
Thanks everyone. Looks much better shown a little larger. When I start cropping down the pano, I end up with about the same composition that I was able to achieve with a single shot at 40mm. Definitely happy to have the pano though.
