Hint of Rain
One from on the road to Big Bend last month. A morning thunderstorm had passed over bringing a little drought relief to a parched landscape.

I saw this little puddle and thought it might make a good image with the great clouds we had.

Nice shot Darren, I like the clouds. I dont know if its possible but I can see the sun rays above the mountains in the back. Is there any way to make these pop out more? I have some pictures like this and would like to make them stand out but just haven't figured out a way to. I have seen them done before, but I wonder if it has more to do with lighting than the processing?
Thanks for sharing,
Chris

Chris, thanks. I am not sure how I would best bring out those light rays but I am going to give it a try. I'll post back with an updated image if I can get something better.

Hey Darren, I like the shot showing the vastness of the area and how the lighter foreground leads into the darker center. The winding road in the center also leads the eye through the shot.

A "Hint" of rain is all we've had lately also. If we don't get some soon, we will look like the Big Bend area.

Nice shot as usual Darren. Not sure if you're using PS or Lightroom but you might want to try adjusting the luminance and/or saturation values of the blue tones that lay between the light rays. That would create additional contrast and may help to make them pop.

I usually adjust the luminance values in Camera Raw before importing it into PS CS4 if needed for a specific image. I know you can do the same thing in Lightroom's Develop module too.
